Furniture Cleaning & Care

*Clean your furniture regularly to keep it in good condition.  Use mild soap and water by damping a rag and wiping your furniture gently.  Do not use any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on your furniture because it will ruin the finish.

*Just like with almost all furniture, avoid placing hot and/or wet items on your furniture.

*Always use coasters and wipe up any spilled liquid immediately.

*Place furniture pads on the bottom of each leg and on any/all surfaces that touch the floor, table, desk or any surface that can be damaged or scratched.  This will help protect your floor and furniture from scratches.

*Never put anything sticky on the furniture.

*Use a humidifier and dehumidifier.  The type you use will depend on the humidity and moisture content in the area that the furniture is in.  We highly recommend an automatic control system that will adjust itself appropriately to the the correct levels needed.  Also, a humidity meter is helpful to measure humidity and we highly suggest purchasing one.

*Do not leave your furniture in direct sunlight or near any heat sources.

*Do not penetrate your furniture with any sharp objects, drop anything on your furniture and/or hit anything on your furniture.  This will cause damage to the finish and the wood.

*If the furniture is getting a lot of use and you see that the finish is not like it was originally, we suggest putting on some poly for further protection.  This can be done every few months, yearly or as frequently as you wish.  We highly suggest hiring a professional to apply any extra protective layers.  Please contact us if you would like to know the finish we used on your furniture and any tips we can offer.
